VISION:
Eastern Star shining brightly; to make a difference in our communities.
WHAT IS THE ORDER OF THE EASTERN STAR?
The Order of the Eastern Star is a non-profit organization comprised of diverse individuals dedicated to improving the quality of lives in our communities through the charities we support as well as fellowship, social enjoyment, and charitable works.
Our primary charity is Service Dogs. Provincially, we also support Alzheimer’s, Care Givers, Autism, CF, Diabetes, Asthma, and the Worthy Grand Matron’s charity of the year which in recent years has been Courageous Warriors, Angelman Syndrome, Service Dogs, Ronald McDonalds House, Immunotherapy, Valour Place, etc. We also have several bursaries. All the charities are CRA approved.
At the local chapter level, the charities they support are those that are most dear to the members of that chapter including Heart, Cancer, Parkinson’s, shelters, to name just a few. They also sponsor high school and university bursaries.
We do not espouse a particular religion but we welcome members from all religious denominations.
