VISION: Eastern Star shining brightly; to make a difference in our communities.

EXCITING ANNOUNCEMENT
The Worthy Grand Matron Sis. Jacquie is extremely excited about the news that The Alzheimer Society of Alberta & Northwest Territories has Nominated the Grand Chapter of Alberta Order of the Eastern Star Foundation for National Philanthropy Day in Edmonton. National Philanthropy Day, or NPD, celebrates the charitable work that EVERYONE does to make a difference and create an impact in their communities.
The Alzheimer Society of Alberta and Northwest Territories would like to recognize the Grand Chapter of Alberta, Order of the Eastern Star Foundation, for their past and ongoing support. Since 2013 The Grand Chapter of Alberta, Order of the Eastern Star Foundation, has donated over $466,000 to AS AB/NT to support programming for people living with dementia and their care partners. The dedicated members of the Order of the Eastern Star have raised this money through casinos and other fundraising events. These gifts support programming that is delivered to the thousands of people living with dementia, their families, and care partners in remote, rural, and urban communities. With programs being offered in-person and online, The Order of the Eastern Star Foundation has made an impact across the province and beyond.

WHAT IS THE ORDER OF THE EASTERN STAR?
The Order of the Eastern Star is a non-profit organization comprised of diverse individuals dedicated to improving the quality of lives in our communities through the charities we support as well as fellowship, social enjoyment, and charitable works.
Our primary charity is Service Dogs. Provincially, we also support Alzheimer’s, Care Givers, Autism, CF, Diabetes, Asthma, and the Worthy Grand Matron’s charity of the year which in recent years has been Courageous Warriors, Angelman Syndrome, Service Dogs, Ronald McDonalds House, Immunotherapy, Valour Place, etc. We also have several bursaries. All the charities are CRA approved.
At the local chapter level, the charities they support are those that are most dear to the members of that chapter including Heart, Cancer, Parkinson’s, shelters, to name just a few. They also sponsor high school and university bursaries.
We do not espouse a particular religion but we welcome members from all religious denominations.
